Madrid, 1980.

Andrea Santamarina is graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (University of The Arts, London) and studied Fine Arts at The Complutense University in Madrid & L´Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna (Italy).

During 2004-2006 she was awarded with a scholarship to work as an artist in FABRICA, the communication research center of Benetton founded by Oliviero Toscani in Treviso, Italy.

Since 2007 she has worked as an independent artist in London, where she has collaborated with designers including Martino Gamper and Jaime Hayón. Previously, she worked with designers and artists including Aldo Cibic and La Fura dels Baus theatre group and has participated in international workshops with Lucy Orta, Golan Levin or El Último Grito. She also received grants from The Spanish Ministry of Culture & Fundaciò Pilar i Joan Miro. 

Her work has been shown in Milan (Vaso nel Vaso, Salone del Mobile, 2006), Brisbane (Winners, The Festival of Music of Brisbane, 2006), Istanbul (Perfect Weekend, Biennial of Art, 2006), Paris (Autoportraits, Fabrica Les Yeux Ouvres, The George Pompidou Center, 2006), London (Scenoworks, Central Saint Martins, 2006), San Sebastian (MID_E Art Electronic Festival, Arteleku Art Center, 2007) and published in magazines like Claves de La Razón Práctica, Interni International, The Plan, Elle Decor, Casaviva, and in newspapers such as the Italian La Republica (Supplement AD) and El Diario Vasco as well as many others.

She presented her first solo exhibition at La Llotgeta exhibition space of La CAM in Valencia (Spain), 2007.
