A picture in movement, reflecting the continuous and painful struggle of a woman who seeks emancipation from the irremediable passage of time, represented by a male dancer.
Dance is an area in which the diverse cultures and civilizations (Indigenous American, European and African) converge in Chilean history. The female protagonist progresses through five distinct styles of dance; she begins with the delicate gestures associated to the upper classes and culminates with the movements of the ‘Zambos Caporales’, of African and Bolivian roots and associated with the indigenous tribes.
In this audiovisual proposal the following folklore Chilean dances appear:
The woman: Cachimbo/ Sombrerito/ Jota/ Sajuriana/ Balambito/ Zambos Caporales
The men: Cachimbo
