A Thriller Cage

Cinema Installations V / V

The project would be executed in an irregularly-sized romm, where a serie of iron bars not only cross the space from the upper facing wall to the lower facing wall of the room, but also traverse and even extend the latter wall.

The spectator will be able to move about between these bars. On the upper front wall there will be a projection of a man being machine-gunned (image taken from Billy Wilder film, Some Like It Hot, 1959).

The traces of bullets are a reflection of death or that thing which pushes one toward it. In this cas, a series of shots. The desire to represent the instant between life and death, between the living and the dead, where anyone might find themselves trapped, was what led me to construct an installation in which time stops, as if we had pushed the stop button of the video of life itself or, in this case, a recreation of it.
